Packaging is a key component of food preservation and our flexible packaging is designed to protect its contents from contaminants. Packaging graphics are the main method of communication to retail consumers regarding ingredients and potential allergens which may be present in their food purchases.

Our diverse customer base, and ever-expanding marketplace means we must ensure compliance to a wide variety of customers compliance needs. To meet those compliance needs we use on-site audits, third party certifications, vendor certification programs, along with the support of our supplier services, their laboratory services and, external accredited labs.

Tempo Flexible Packaging ensures all relevant and required certifications are adhered to and properly maintained to meet the requirements of all stakeholders and certification governing bodies.

Throughout our long tenured history of manufacturing, we have been certified to various quality systems, beginning with ISO 9001 in 1996.  We have proudly maintained a high level of quality culture, which formatted the framework for us to adopt Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) identified through the HACCP food safety program PAC secure in 2010.

Currently we have integrated into the Globally Recognized Food Safety System Certification program called FSSC 22000 V5.1.  This scheme has offered us the advantage of building the scope of our food safety management system within an ISO based quality management system. FSSC 22000 consists of 3 components: ISO 22000, PRP’s (Pre-Requisite Programs) and additional FSSC 22000 requirements.

Our management systems provide the standards and controls that enable Tempo Flexible Packaging to maintain our high standards of producing quality packaging and meet your product expectations and requirements.  We have participated in Ethical and Food Safety audits for large multi-national corporations always with great success and recognition.  We invite our customers to engage with our Quality Assurance department to ensure all compliance requirements are met to maintain our responsibilities as a valued member of the supply chain.

Tempo Plastics is FSSC 22000 certified, a GFSI-recognized Standard for the assessment of packaging material suppliers and converters. The FSSC 22000 food safety scheme is an independent, ISO-based safety standard that promotes transparency throughout your food supply chain. It is based on the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System standard.

PAC Members

PAC Packaging Consortium is a not-for-profit corporation that includes over 2,100 members throughout the packaging value chain. No one is excluded! Our networking process includes PAC webinars, seminars, conferences, competitions, facility tours, education programs, trade shows, technical work groups and social activities i.e. golf tournaments.

Tempo Plastics is a member of the CPMA. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) is a not-for-profit organization that represents companies that are active in the marketing of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables in Canada from the farm gate to the dinner plate. CPMA’s vision is to enable and lead the produce industry by enhancing the market and facilitating trade of fresh fruits and vegetables for its members!

Founded in 1958, the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) is the world’s leading professional society dedicated to the advancement of the flexographic printing industry. FTA represents nearly 1,300 company locations encompassing all aspects of the flexographic printing supply chain. Our members include printers/converters, consumer products companies, prepress providers, suppliers, graphic design firms, consultants, educators and students. Together we provide a wealth of products, services and shared cutting-edge knowledge to the flexo industry.

The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1979 to promote private label. It is the only organisation of its kind, representing more than 4,500 member companies around the globe. Membership ranges from multinational corporations to small family-owned companies. Their products include food, beverages, snacks, health and beauty, household and kitchen, DIY, and personal and leisure products. Some manufacturers only do private label.
